Marilyn Monroe building dominates Google Earth skyline in
Mississauga
CanadaPlacemarks.com
has completed construction and placement of The Absolute
World Tower on Google Earth in partnership with CondoSky.com
and developer Danny Salvatore of Fernbrook Homes. Google Earth
is a powerful new 3D spatial imaging software available free
from search giant Google. Using the digital design software
SketchUp, CanadaPlacemarks.com has created a replica of the
famous luxury 50 story, 360 degree curving tower, dubbed the
Marilyn Monroe building.
Using Google
Earth, visitors to The Absolute can pan, tilt and zoom around
the virtual building and surroundings and even check out the BMW
325i parked out front. Realtor Sam Sibai commissioned the
construction of the replica of the famous Yansong Ma design to
help drive condo sales at The Absolute. “Buyers can really feel
the excitement that has been building ever since the
announcement that Yansong Ma had won the design contest,” says
Sibai, of CondoSky.com and Homelife Realty in Mississauga. “Being able to
zoom around the site in 3D gives my potential buyers a really
strong sense of place, even before actual construction has even
begun,” adds Sibai. In a unique twist, Sibai will be giving away
a real version of the virtual BMW 325i that sits out
front the Google Earth version of The Absolute. He will draw
from amongst the first condo buyers.
Fernbrook
Homes,
the luxury condo developer who are building the actual
Absolute Tower, have given their stamp of approval to the
virtual replica on Google Earth. “We’re pleased about the level
of craftsmanship and attention to detail on the virtual
construction of The Absolute on Google Earth,” says Fernbrook
CEO, Danny Salvatore. “We’re excited to build more virtual real
estate on Google Earth in partnership with CanadaPlacemarks.com
– it’s a natural evolution of our marketing efforts,” adds
Salvatore.
CanadaPlacemarks.com is a Northern Vancouver Island-based
technology company specializing in unique marketing
applications of Google Earth for the tourism and real estate
industries. By creating unique, customized placemark files for
resort owners and real estate agents, CanadaPlacemarks.com
allows users to visualize their world in 3D from a virtual
vantage point. Property developers are now taking it a step
further by using SketchUp to superimpose virtual buildings and
proposed developments onto Google Earth. “It’s exciting times
for us right now,” says CanadaPlacemarks.com National
Sales Manager, Tim McGrady, from his offices in the tiny
Northern Vancouver Island community of Black Creek. “We have
people beating down our doors from around the world to construct
customized placemark files and SketchUp models of new and
existing developments. People are really getting the
power of Google Earth. We are basically building a real estate
landscape one placemark at a time on GE.”
